Goals and Opportunities The goal of Marys Shelter is to promote and save lives. As a contributing member of the Shelter, you have the opportunity to share in the miracles woven from the continuing achievement of this goal. |
We provide a home for young pregnant teenage girls who, for whatever reasons, might otherwise have no place to go. There is not a specific amount or a specific donation that is requested. Any assistance that you are willing to provide, is eternally appreciated by the staff and community members involved with Marys Shelter. Currently, we are in need of clothing, food, appliances, services, and money to successfully run Marys Shelter. In the pursuit of providing a warm and loving atmosphere for teens desiring to carry their baby to full term, and also becoming a productive member of society, we are asking for your assistance.
Mary's Shelter Awarded Grant Funds
Thank you Governor Jeb Bush and Secretary of Health Dr. Bob Brooks for awarding Mary's Shelter, Inc. funding to teach Abstinence-Until-Marriage in Seminole County and 16 other counties in the State of Florida.
The most exciting result of Welfare Reform are block grants awarded around the country to 501(c)3 organizations that implement the true abstinence-until-marriage message.
Our wise leaders have now done the math. The expense to tax payers is crushing. Welfare Reform Title V funds are now being used to reverse the devastating and destructive results of teaching elementary and high school children to have unmarried, casual sex. Encouraging promiscuous behavior, teaching safe sex and non-directive explicit sex education in our schools produces even larger numbers of unwed pregnancies, larger numbers of STD's, higher suicide rates, and larger numbers of criminal behavior in school age children.
America used to have the healthiest children in the world. Today, we have the most infected and unhealthy children both mentally and physically as a result of STD's.
One in two college women graduating with a higher degree, graduate with an STD. What have they learned?
We have hope for the future of our children. Parents, please teach your children directive character-based relationship education, based on purity and respect for their health.
Please write or contact our organization if you reside in Seminole County, Florida. We would love to present the abstinence program to your class, youth group, community organization, or church group. Or contact the Florida Department of Health for information on abstinence education in your county.
Mary's Shelter, Inc. is a non-profit tax exempt organization. The abstinence-until-marriage program is funded by the Florida Department of Health. Tax deductible donations to Mary's Shelter and the proposed home for unwed girls is deductible as a 501(c)3. Tax ID #59-3479407 in the State of Florida.
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW.
